How far is Cocoa Beach from Disney World?

About 70 miles east, just over an hour via the Beachline Expressway (SR 528) in normal traffic. From Orlando International Airport it is roughly 45 minutes on the same road.

Is it worth driving an hour for a surf lesson?

A lesson takes two hours on the sand and in the water, and everything is waiting for you — board, rash guard and wetsuit. That leaves the rest of the day for the drive back and the parks, which is why most visitors treat it as a rest-day morning.

Can we surf on a day off between park days?

That is the usual plan. Book a morning session so you are back before the afternoon, and tell us if you have a second spare morning in case the wind moves your slot.

What do we need to bring from the hotel?

Swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and drinking water. The surfboard, rash guard and wetsuit are included with the lesson, so there is no equipment to hire on the way.

Can we combine it with Kennedy Space Center or a cruise?

Yes. Kennedy Space Center's Visitor Complex is about half an hour from where the lesson meets, and the Port Canaveral cruise terminals are ten minutes north — surf in the morning and the Space Center in the afternoon works well on either.
